A series of elimination matches declares Sandor Szabo as duration World Champion, however, A.W.A. doesn't recognize him as the legitimate world champion as he has not defeated Steve Casey. Casey returns from his tour of duty and defeats Szabo in a consolidation match for the title on April 4, 1945 in Boston, MA.
